Cover art for the January 2015 issue of the scientific journal Cell. The illustration represents CRISPR RNA scaffolds (scRNAs), used to direct the CRISPR-Cas complex to specific target genes. Sets of scRNAs can be used to activate (green) some genes and repress (red) others.
